A beam saw is a powerful cutting machine designed to handle large pieces of wood with precision. Unlike traditional saws, beam saws are equipped with advanced technology that allows for automated cutting, making them ideal for high-volume production. CNC beam saws, in particular, utilize computer numerical control (CNC) technology to ensure that cuts are accurate and repeatable.
How Does a Beam Saw Work?
With intelligent handling and precision cutting, these machines make effortless work of large volume panel sizing.
A moving carriage saw and a powerful pressure beam hold the material in place. There is a rear fence which holds and moves the material to the position which is controlled by computerisation. This allows both physical and technical aspects to work together to produce great products and lasting results.
The saw carriage of the beam saw produces high feed rates with large horsepower motors. This allows a scoring saw which is incorporated into the design to cut laminated and veneered materials.
The beam saws available at Calderbrook Woodworking Machinery offer optional software equipment which can work at a range of different angles and they are also available in compact models as well.

How To Use A Beam Saw?
Preparations before starting the computer beam saw:
1.Check the equipment operation record and clarify the equipment status. If there is a fault, it needs to be repaired before use.
2.Check whether the lubricating oil in the automatic oiler of the equipment is sufficient. Check whether the oil circuit is normal and whether there is lubricating oil in the guide rail.
3.Check whether the tightness of the saw blade belt is normal.
4.Check whether the saw blade is sharp and whether it is installed firmly. It can be used only after confirmation.
5.Check whether the air pressure is within the normal range.
Using a computer beam saw
- Turn on the switch of the equipment and let it idle for 1 to 2 minutes. It can be used only if there are no abnormalities.
- Select the appropriate saw blade according to the quality and material requirements of the added product.
- The processing feed speed is determined according to the hardness of the material, which is generally around 20m/min.
- After placing the materials, the operator should ensure that he and others are safe before pressing the start button. In case of emergency, press the emergency stop button immediately.

What is A Beam Saw Used For?
1. Furniture manufacturing
Solid wood and panel furniture: used to cut solid wood splicing boards, multi-layer boards, particle boards and other materials, meet the high-precision processing requirements of special-shaped boards, and significantly improve the processing efficiency and dimensional accuracy of furniture parts.
Composite wooden door production: for the primary processing of artificial board strips, simplify the process and improve the cutting quality, suitable for standardized cutting of plywood, density board and other materials.
2. Woodworking industry
Widely used for cutting plywood, blockboard, medium-density fiberboard, replacing traditional sliding table saws to solve problems such as low precision and poor efficiency. It can be integrated into the woodworking machinery production line to realize stacking and chip removal automation and reduce manual dependence.
3. Construction field
Precisely cut building insulation boards (such as calcium silicate boards and cement fiber boards) to ensure close fit during installation and improve the building insulation performance.
4. Decoration and special material processing
Suitable for precision cutting of non-wood materials such as plexiglass, acrylic boards, PS boards, etc., to ensure smooth edges without broken edges.
Benefits of using a CNC beam saw
1. Increased productivity: CNC technology enables faster cutting speeds and reduces setup time, allowing you to complete projects faster.
2. Improved precision: With computer-controlled cutting, you can achieve a level of precision that is difficult to replicate with a manual saw.
3. Reduced waste: CNC beam saws can optimize cutting patterns, minimize waste and maximize material utilization.
4. Versatility: CNC beam saws can handle different types of wood, making them a versatile addition to your workshop.
