The sliding table saw is a device specially used for cutting and sawing boards. It uses modern technology to replace the original band saw cutting, which greatly improves the efficiency of cutting wood boards. It is highly accurate, efficient and low-noise. So what are the safety operation rules when using the sliding table saw?

1. Basic safety operation
Standing and operation: The operator should stand in an area away from the saw blade and the wood, and avoid standing directly in front of the saw blade or on a straight line of potential rebound. The propulsion force should be toward the backing to increase stability.
Saw blade protection: When using a sliding table saw, ensure that the saw blade height is moderate, usually set about 3mm-6mm above the wood to reduce rebound force.
2. Crosscutting operation
Avoid using a crosscutting backing and a straight backing at the same time: doing so may result in inaccurate cutting, and may even damage the saw blade or cause a safety accident.
Correct use of backing: Use a crosscutting backing for crosscutting and a straight backing for longitudinal cutting. This ensures the straightness and accuracy of the cutting.
It is strictly forbidden to cut with bare hands without a backing: Cutting without a backing is very dangerous and may result in inaccurate cutting and serious personal injury.
Crosscutting support for long wood: If you need to crosscut a long piece of wood, remember to use a long crosscutting backing ruler and add a clamping support at the farthest end of the wood to prevent the wood from moving or vibrating during the cutting process.
Alternative solution for too wide wood: For too wide wood, if you cannot use a crosscutting backing, you can make a homemade crosscutting clamp instead to ensure the stability and safety of the cutting.
3. Longitudinal cutting operation
Avoid longitudinal cutting of wood that is bent or has no straight reference surface: Never longitudinal cut wood that is bent or deformed or has no straight reference surface. At least ensure that the wood has one face and one straight edge, with the face against the machine table and the side against the straight backing to ensure the accuracy of the cutting.
Operator’s safe position: When making longitudinal cuts, the operator should stand in an area away from the saw path and wood to avoid saw blade breakage or wood ejection causing injury.
Safe cutting of small wood: When longitudinally cutting wood less than 150mm, be sure to use a safety pusher to prevent your fingers from approaching the saw blade and ensure safe operation.
Precautions for feeding force: When longitudinally cutting, the feeding force should be on the wood between the saw blade and the backing to avoid excessive force causing wood displacement or saw blade damage.

4. Feeding and cutting
Feeding force: The feeding force should be on the wood between the saw blade and the backing to avoid excessive force causing wood displacement or saw blade damage.
Cutting speed: The feeding speed during cutting is affected by many factors, including the difference between longitudinal and transverse cutting, the type of saw blade used and its sharpness, the type of wood being cut, and the power of the table saw.
5. Equipment maintenance and cleaning
Chip chute and slag suction device: Ensure that the equipment chip chute and slag suction device are unobstructed to prevent slag from accumulating and affecting production and safety.
Cleaning work: After cutting, clean up the scraps around the saw blade and on the operating platform in time, and stop the machine for cleaning if necessary.
6. Personal protection
When using a woodworking sliding table saw, you need to pay great attention to safety awareness, keep abreast of safety regulations, and do a good job of personal protection, such as wearing relevant equipment, avoiding close observation of the saw blade, etc., to avoid work interruptions due to safety reasons.
