Everyone knows that saw blades are consumables. In our daily use of band saw blades, no matter what material we are sawing, and regardless of how carefully we use them, the teeth will wear out during use. As long as the alloy head on the band saw blade is still usable, we need our bandsaw blade sharpener to grind the teeth to facilitate reuse, which can effectively increase the service life of the saw blade and make the surface smoother during sawing.

Bandsaw Blade Sharpener

The bandsaw blade sharpener is a device specifically designed to repair worn band saw blades. After sharpening, the old band saw blades can be reused, and their cutting accuracy and efficiency can match that of newly purchased blades, which greatly reduces the factory’s procurement costs.

Working Principle of Bandsaw Blade Sharpener

The bandsaw blade sharpener primarily grinds the saw blade uniformly through the grinding motor and the drive motor to increase the reuse rate of the saw blade.

  • A drive motor with a shaft end plugged into a through hole is located under the workbench of the bandsaw blade sharpener.
  • The grinding motor and the drive motor are controlled by a controller.
  • A linkage mechanism connected to the shaft end of the drive motor is situated between the guide clamping tables. This mechanism includes a connecting rod, an eccentric wheel connecting rod, an eccentric wheel, and a link block.
  • One end of the linkage mechanism features a lever connected to a torsion spring, while the other end is attached to a rotating seat via a link block.

Features of Bandsaw Blade Sharpener

  • Processing Capabilities: The machine can process saw blades with a width range of 20-125mm, a thickness range of 0.5-5mm, and a processing length from 3000mm to 15000mm. It is ideal for mass production of saw blades, accommodating tooth pitches from 10-45MM and front angles from 1-30°.
  • Grinding Specifications: The grinding wheel has a diameter of φ175MM, an inner hole of φ32MM, and operates at a speed of 4500RPM, ensuring efficient and precise grinding. The grinding wheel motor power is 0.55KW.
  • Efficiency: The machine operates at a speed of 1-25 teeth per minute, providing fast processing and high efficiency. It includes a water pump with a power of 0.04KW to ensure a continuous water supply during grinding, with a water tank capacity of 35L.
  • Compact Design: The overall dimensions of the machine are 9006001400MM, and it weighs 209KG. Despite its size, it has a compact design that minimizes workshop space usage.
  • Power and Durability: Driven by a 1KW motor, the machine has sufficient power for demanding tasks. Its robust structure and high-quality components ensure long-lasting performance and durability.

Precautions for Using a Bandsaw Blade Sharpener

  • Tooth Opening Allowance: A manual sharpener should leave a grinding allowance of 1-1.5 mm, while an automatic sharpener can leave a grinding allowance of 0.5-1 mm.
  • Burnt Spot Treatment: For saw blades with burnt spots that have high hardness, the teeth should be ground shallower than other parts, and more grinding should be done to ensure uniform tooth height.
  • Abnormal Conditions: If any abnormal conditions such as chipping, depression, or bending of the saw teeth are detected during operation, the process should be halted immediately, and the cause should be investigated.
